MediaAlarm had a baby!

Please welcome EggTimer to the MediaAlarm family! EggTimers can be launched from the updated MediaAlarm interface. Yep! That’s plural! If you need a countdown rather than a time alarm, EggTimer has you taken care of! Download the new and improved MediaAlarm with EggTimer here!

To speak a little more on this for anyone still paying attention, let me step back from marketing and speak personally. MediaAlarm was actually my second time-tracking app after a simple timer more like EggTimer. That timer ultimately just didn’t serve my immediate need as well for getting to class, so I wrote MediaAlarm to replace it. I still have the app bumping around and was inspired to release it based on a self-care bot suggesting setting a 2-minute alarm to just breathe.

But in the interest of updating the old app and because I’d been holding off on updating MediaAlarm or the page until I had something a little bigger, it made sense in my head to join the two apps together in the process. If you don’t need a full alarm clock, just a timer, EggTimer is a convenient option. And maybe it’s an extra click if you’re not already a MediaAlarm user, but for those who are, having it right there at your fingertips feels like a good way to get it in front of people who might not otherwise use it. As someone who at times has to step away from work to avoid bashing my head clear through my desk, I figured it would be ideal to have them both in one place.

I am open to feedback on its ease of use and whether it should be a separate app, but MediaAlarm, as always, is guaranteed forever free. Making EggTimer a part of that is a way of honoring that for them both.
